In this installment, we look at software settings in Blue Iris. Motion detection settings are used for alerts and recording, and optimizing a single set of settings for both is difficult in some scenarios, such as a street view. For example, from a recording perspective I wouldn't mind filming every passing car so if someone walked up to my door I could see them approach... But I don't want an e-mail alert for every passing car. Fortunately, Blue Iris lets you make the most of your IP-based camera system by making a "copy" of the camera and then having independent motion settings for alerts and recording.
